It's strange how one thing leads to another: presenting used to be my main job, but actually it's writing my books that has made me spend more time in various Green Rooms and on comfy TV sofas than I ever did before.

I used to find being a guest on these programmes, rather than being the one asking the questions, so terrifying that I literally thought I'd blank out any second, but now I'm as relaxed in the studio as I am at home, and I really enjoy it. It means nasty 5am starts - a HUGE thank you goes to the wonderful make-up ladies in such situations: they can make even the roughest of us look good with just a dab of cover-up here and there! - but it's a lot of fun and I just hope what I say helps people, and makes their lives a little easier!
